STEP-BY-STEP

 

1) There are four main crowdfunding platforms to date: Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Patreon, and GoFundMe. Each is very unique—choose carefully.

2) Don’t jump right into creating an account once you’ve chosen your platform:

  • Figure out your timeline

  • Hire a videographer

  • Check with your publishing partner for important dates

  • Be intentional with your budget: both your ask and the money you will need to put in to make a beautiful campaign

3) Envision a worst-case scenario—what will happen if you don’t meet your financial goal?
